There is never a dull moment in Ardee Concert Band, no sooner has one performance come to an end when its time to start preparing for the next.
They have just performed in the Northern of Ireland Band Championships on Saturday the 1st of November where they came a respectable second place. The Band gave an excellent rendition of “A Cambrian Suite” by Michael Ball and “The Lord of the Rings” by Johan De Meij. Although if truth be known there was a little disappointment at the result as the band knew they had performed these two difficult pieces very well. For some members this was their first competition, namely Daragh Browne, Ciara Cousins, Lauren Mathews and Martin Megan. For one member recently returned to the ranks, namely Terry Flanagan, it was his first competition since the 1970’s, so this was a big achievement.
